From October 27 to November 2, 2024, students from Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Senior High School Department participated in the 5th International College and Career Exposure (iC2E) program in Singapore. This immersive experience was designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of international education and career opportunities. The program included visits to prestigious institutions such as the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), SP Jain School of Global Management, and Singapore Management University (SMU), all renowned for their excellence and relevance in higher education.
Throughout the week, students engaged in various activities that highlighted the importance of academic and non-academic growth. At SIM, they participated in a Micro-Credential Workshop, gaining insights into the latest educational trends and skills needed for the future. The visit to SP Jain School of Global Management offered a glimpse into global business education, while the sessions at SMU emphasized leadership and service, aligning with the school’s thrusts on excellence. Sharing from student alumni who are enrolled in SMU also took place. These experiences were not only academically enriching but also provided a broader perspective on global education standards.

In addition to academic exposure, the program included visits to world-class companies and industries relevant to the students’ future careers (i.e. Urban Development Authority, Sustainable Singapore Gallery at Marina Barrage). These visits were carefully selected to align with the school’s focus on leadership and service, ensuring that students could see firsthand the practical applications of their studies. The exposure to these industries helped students understand the dynamic nature of the global job market and the skills required to excel in various fields.

Cultural enrichment was another key component of the iC2E program. Students explored Singapore’s rich history and vibrant culture through visits to museums and historic sites. Highlights included the ArtScience Museum, Merlion Park, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Universal Studios, Sentosa Sensoryscape Park and Flower Dome Impressions of Monet and Cloud Forest. These excursions provided a deeper appreciation of Singapore’s cultural heritage and its role as a global city. The combination of academic, professional, and cultural experiences made the iC2E program a holistic and transformative journey for all participants.
