CEBU, Philippines – Participating Jesuit Schools officially prepare for their precamp preparations for the upcoming 1st Jesuit Schools Scouting Network Camp.

As the days grow shorter and the excitement intensifies, the 1st Jesuit Schools Scouting Network Camp (JSSNC) 2024 fast approaches. While Jesuit schools from all over the country are at full swing for pre-camp preparations, here’s a glimpse of what each school has been working on so far.

The P3.5 million facility, funded by the school’s alumni association, SHAABAA, and several corporate donors, offers high-end training equipment and two rehab rooms. The project underscores the alumni’s commitment to give back and highlights the importance of strength and conditioning for athletes.

Title Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu tops San Remigio Properties Basketball Tournament

The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s Magis Eagles won the 4th San Remigio Properties Basketball Tournament Invitational Cup on July 9, 2023, at the Magis Eagles Stadium, Mandaue City. They defeated the University of Cebu’s Baby Webmasters 66-60 in the championship. Magis Eagles’ Jared Bahay and RJ Dacalos were standout players, while Lourdonnie Wedd Cuyos shined for the Baby Webmasters. The National Yi Lan School of Taiwan secured third place by edging out the University of the Visayas’ Baby Green Lancers 70-66.

Jelo Mar Rota of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles has been chosen to represent the Philippines at the 13th Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia Camp hosted by the NBA in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Rota, a forward and center for the Magis Eagles and a native of Bantayan Island, is one of only two Filipino players selected for this esteemed camp. The other selected Filipino is Andy Gemao from Letran University Squires. They are among the top 80 high school basketball prospects from Asia and the Middle East chosen for the program. Launched in 2021 as part of FIBA’s outreach, the NBA BWB camp offers participants advanced coaching from top NBA, WNBA, and FIBA coaches.
