Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu proudly concludes the successful second year of the International College and Career Exposure (iC2E) Program, held in Canada from April 12 to 26, 2025. This transformative initiative continues to advance the school’s mission of forming globally competent, compassionate, and hope-filled leaders through meaningful international learning experiences.
Thirteen Senior High School students participated in this journey, accompanied by Mrs. Annie F. Abucay, Senior High School Principal, who served as teacher companion and program assessor—ensuring the program’s impact aligns with the school’s overarching goals for student formation.
Guided by the goals of global immersion, college and career readiness, and intercultural growth, the students engaged in an enriching two-week program that combined academic exploration, leadership development, and cultural immersion.
Students attended five dynamic MasterClasses: Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Leadership Development, Creating Your Personal Brand, Entrepreneurship, and the Change Style Indicator Workshop—all designed to cultivate leadership skills, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit.
The team also visited six prestigious universities: Niagara College, Brock University, University of Toronto, Redeemer University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and University of Guelph, gaining valuable insights into Canada’s innovative education systems and pathways for global academic opportunities.
The journey included exposure to Canada’s commitment to experiential and sustainable education, highlighted by tours of Niagara’s Ecological Sustainability Wetlands and the majestic Niagara Falls. Students further enriched their learning through homestay experiences, building adaptability, independence, and cultural humility—critical life skills for thriving in a globalized world.
A major highlight was the graduation ceremony, where students received certificates and were introduced to scholarship opportunities at Niagara College. This proud moment marked not just their academic achievements but also their growth in confidence, leadership, and personal responsibility.
Beyond academic and career exploration, the iC2E Program instilled vital life values: gratitude, leadership rooted in service, intercultural understanding, and resilience. Students reflected not only on the universities and career paths they discovered but also on what it means to live with hope, empathy, and responsibility in an interconnected world.
The success of the iC2E Program reaffirms Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu’s enduring commitment to forming students who are globally aware, socially responsible, and deeply grounded in Ignatian values. We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of parents, teachers, and partners who made this mission possible.
As our students return home, they carry more than certificates and memories—they bring with them a renewed sense of mission: to be bearers of hope wherever they are called.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!
