BSP Leaders’ Council Participated in the 25th World Scout Jamboree held in South Korea last August 1-12, 2023

Draw Your Dream. We Thrived. We Survived. We Conquered.

In the recently concluded 25th World Scout Jamboree held in SaeManGeum, Jeollabuk-do, Republic of Korea, last August 1-12, 2023, six Blue Eagle Scouts, Therese Erlyn Napuli, Arthur Inigo Crisologo Santos, Mikaela Baquiano, Andrea Gail Marave, and Priscilla Viveca Leonides Santos, represented Sacred Heart School Ateneo de Cebu with the other 27 scouts of the Visayas delegation from Bacolod, Aklan, Iloilo, and Dumaguete, representing the Philippine Contingent.

The historic event is the second time the Korea Scout Association hosted the World Scout Jamboree and marked the 100th anniversary of the Korea Scout Association. With the theme of “Draw Your Dream,” representing the will for collaboration for opportunities for dreams to come true and for the youth, the Philippines represented 200 scouts from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao & Kuwait.

All while drawing their dreams, they faced multiple environmental challenges, from heatwaves to a typhoon, reaching international and national news outlets and articles, to being evacuated; it tested their utmost limits and capabilities as true scouts to thrive, survive and conquer the activities, all while learning, serving, and having fun.

Like the stars in their dreams, they shared memories with cultures from around the world, exchanging languages, practices, clothing, food, and identities and surrounded by a community with shared ideals; this unity has strengthened the bond of world scouting, especially after such difficult years. Scouting remains to change thousands of lives as it continues to impact the world.
