AHA-Taiwan Teacher-chaperone Batch 5
As the Ateneo Hearter Adventure in Taiwan unfolds, 17 students and 2 (two) Teacher-chaperones from Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu are experiencing an enriching blend of cultural immersion and academic exchange, language learning, and character formation at St. Aloysius Technical School, in Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. With activities gearing from May 6 to 19, 2024, the journey promises to be an unforgettable exploration of Taiwanese life and education.
During their time at St. Aloysius Technical School, students have gone through aspects of Taiwanese culture and academics. One of the highlights has been the intensive Mandarin learning sessions, equipping students with essential language skills for exploring their surroundings. Additionally, formal class instruction and workshops across diverse departments including mechanical, electrical, electronics, information technology, and multimedia design have provided valuable insights into Taiwan’s educational landscape.
More than the classroom, students have embarked on street immersions, accompanied by its school host. Venturing through traditional grocery stores and savoring authentic Taiwanese cuisine, they have absorbed the vibrant essence of daily life in Taiwan.
What lies ahead for the Ateneo delegation in the coming week is a source of eager anticipation. With each passing day, the students eagerly anticipate further immersion into Taiwanese family life, as they continue to live with their hospitable Taiwanese hosts. This unique opportunity offers a firsthand glimpse into the customs, traditions, and values that define Taiwanese households, promoting deeper connections and understanding among the participants.
As the Ateneo Hearter Adventure in Taiwan enters its next phase, the excitement among the delegation is palpable. With rich experiences awaiting them, the students eagerly embrace the journey ahead, ready to welcome all that Taiwan has to offer.
