Grateful Hearts in Tiny Hands: SHS-AdC Early Ed’s Joyful Thanksgiving

By: Mary Grace C. Vallente (GS Faculty)

Filled with joy, excitement, and cheerful hearts, the young Ateneo Hearters of the Early Education (EEd) Unit gathered at the playground on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 to celebrate their much-awaited Thanksgiving Celebration.

Thanksgiving is a meaningful occasion in Early Education – a time to pause and say “thank you” for the countless blessings received throughout the school year. The celebration was marked by a series of fun and purposeful activities that allowed the children to express gratitude in joyful and heartfelt ways.

The day began with a solemn paraliturgical celebration held at the Cor Jesu Oratory presided by Fr. Irmo Valeza, S.J. The children also offered school supplies to be shared with partner communities. This simple act of giving reflected the spirit of generosity and compassion that the celebration aimed to instill in every young heart.

With grateful hearts, the community thanked God for a fruitful and successful school year in Early Education. His blessings were evident in the gift of dedicated teachers, supportive friends, and a nurturing school environment. Through daily experiences, the children were able to learn, grow, and develop values of kindness, friendship, and love.

After the paraliturgy, the children returned to the Early Education building for a simple meal shared with their classmates. What began as a short picnic day in EEd soon turned into a joyful moment of bonding, as laughter and cheerful conversations filled the Early Ed playground. In this warm and relaxed gathering, the children not only enjoyed their food but also experienced the true beauty of sharing – discovering how even the simplest moments can bring genuine happiness and strengthen their friendships.

Indeed, the Thanksgiving celebration was a delightful and memorable experience for all. More importantly, it reminded everyone that the true essence of Thanksgiving lies in having a grateful heart and showing kindness to others.

With grateful hearts in these tiny hands, the children celebrated not only the success of this event but also the spirit of unity, generosity, and love that made it truly meaningful. May this spirit continue to inspire and guide our young Ateneo Hearters as they grow and journey forward.
