This year’s Science Week Celebration has brought science learning beyond the classroom with two exciting activities that tested the knowledge of learners: the Learning Walls and “It’s A Matter of Fact” Science Trivia. Anchored on the theme: “Science and Health: Building Hope, Inspiring Change,” both initiatives highlight the power of science to inspire curiosity and create positive change.
The Learning Walls, placed around the Levels 4 & 5 Activity Centers and enhanced by LED screens in the Level 2 hallway, featured colorful displays, fascinating facts, and rotating science videos about Matter, Force, and Energy. From human health to environmental wonders, the walls turned everyday hallways into spaces of discovery, sparking questions and encouraging independent learning.
Adding an interactive twist was “It’s A Matter of Fact” Science Trivia which challenged young Ateneo Hearters with daily trivia questions posted above grade-level chit boxes. Pupils eagerly submitted their answers, with winners receiving pins and notebooks as tokens of recognition. These small rewards celebrated curiosity and made learning fun.
With students actively engaged in both activities, the Grade School Department has shown that science is not just a subject — it is an adventure woven into daily life, inspiring young Ateneo Hearters to learn, explore, and dream of a brighter future.
