Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Grade School Department officially opened its annual Science Week celebration on September 15, 2025, with the theme “Science and Health: Building Hope, Inspiring Change.” The launching, held at the Magis Eagles Arena, began with a powerful introductory video that set a hopeful and inspiring tone for the two-week celebration.
The Science Week celebration began with “EcoTales: Stories from Nature,” a series of animated short films shown during lunch time at the GS AVR from September 15 to 19, 2025. Using digital media, the activity transformed scientific concepts into engaging stories that were both accessible and meaningful. Grades 1 to 6 pupils watched films that addressed themes such as pollution, climate change, authenticity, interdependence in nature, and resilience. From the cheerful sea turtle in “Hope (2020)” to the inspiring survivor of “Green Light,” each film captured young Ateneo Hearters’ imaginations while fostering empathy and reflection.
Through EcoTales, the grade schoolers discovered that science can be understood not only through experiments but also through stories that touch the heart. The activity demonstrated how technology and creativity can bring learning to life, reminding the school community that science is about building hope and inspiring change.
