Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu mourns the passing of one of our Jesuit patriarchs, Fr. Julian Hernando, SJ who died on March 21, 2024, at the Jesuit Health and Wellness Center in Quezon City.
Born on February 13, 1928, Fr. Hernando entered the Society of Jesus in 1945. He was missioned to Sacred Heart School for Boys (now SHS-AdC) in 1971. He served the school for more than 40 years in various roles.
Fr. Hernando’s remains will be flown into Cebu on Palm Sunday. Please find the details of his wake Masses at the Cor Jesu Oratory, SHS-AdC, Canduman, Mandaue City, Cebu:
March 25 (Holy Monday) – 7pm*
March 26 (Holy Tuesday) – 7pm*
*Viewing hours are until 10 p.m.
March 27 (Holy Wednesday) – 8 a.m. Funeral Mass; Interment follows at Angelicum Gardens
