GS Honors Assembly 2025: Celebrating Ateneo Hearter @ Heart Excellence

GS HONORS ASSEMBLY 2025:
CELEBRATING ATENEO HEARTER @ HEART EXCELLENCE
By: Miss Marisse V. Paraoan – GS AP-Academics

Celebrated on the 70th platinum jubilee of Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu, the Grade School (GS) Honors Assembly held on July 25, 2025, could not have been timed better. Organized at the Magis Eagles Arena and anchored on the school’s jubilee year theme, Ateneo Hearter @ Heart: Celebrating 70

Years of Forming Men and Women for Others, the Honors Assembly 2025 continued to pay tribute to the school’s tradition of excellence, leadership, and service. It was a constant reminder that despite seven decades of arduous labor to provide Jesuit education in Cebu, our institution’s commitment to holistic formation remains steadfast and adaptive.

The Grade School Department paid tribute to 292 outstanding Ateneo Hearters of competence and character through the GS Honors Assembly. The grades 3 to 5 academic honors in school year 2024-2025 were recognized and applauded by the entire grades 1-6 school community. They exemplified Ateneo Hearters who excelled in their academic subjects while maintaining exemplary behavior. An alternative schedule was implemented to ensure that all grade school pupils, including both academic awardees and others, could participate in this communal activity. A neo-ethnic dance, the activity’s intermission number performed by selected grades 5 and 6 pupils, was a nod to the upcoming Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa celebration. Graced with the presence of Ateneo Hearter parents, guardians, friends, administrators, faculty, and staff, the GS Honors Assembly 2025 was truly a tribute to the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu family.

The GS Department re-affirmed that the Grade School Honors Assembly 2025 was a celebration of love and hope. Mrs. Lea P. Amores, the GS Principal, highlighted that this achievement was a testament to the combined labor of love from the school, the pupils’ families, and the entire community. With the honest desire and joy for learning and yearlong hard work, it was, without a doubt, a celebration of the Ateneo Hearters’ commitment to excellence, leadership, and service. It was an acknowledgement of how important patience, humility, and endurance were in achieving learning goals. More than the medals and awards, the GS Honors Assembly sought to be an emblem of hope for all learners. It was also a reminder that if one’s goals are not yet achieved as expected, there are still more opportunities to learn and do better, to be Magis. Most important of all, this activity was an affirmation that God is the source of all goodness in the world. All talents and giftedness come from Him. Therefore, all the awards, recognitions, and accolades are for His greater glory.   MVP
