Every Thursday at 7:00 PM, the alumni of Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Batch 1975 gather virtually for their weekly Prayer Meeting. While the years have taken classmates to different places and stages of life, this weekly gathering continues to bring them spirituality together in faith, friendship, and mutual support.
A special part of each prayer meeting is remembering their departed classmates, offering prayers for the eternal repose of their souls and honoring the memories they shared throughout the years. The group also lifts up prayers for healing, protection, peace, good health, strength, and God’s blessings upon all alumni, their families, and loved ones, especially those who are facing illness, personal challenges, or difficult times.
More than just a weekly tradition, the prayer meeting reflects the enduring bond of Batch 1975 and their commitment to caring for one another through faith. It is a beautiful reminder that the ties formed at Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu continue well beyond graduation.
The Alumni Mission and Relations Office hopes this meaningful initiative will inspire other alumni batches to begin their own prayer gatherings in whatever ways. Whether held weekly, monthly, or at another regular interval, coming together in prayer is a simple yet powerful way to strengthen friendships, remember those who have gone before us, and continue living the Magis spirit of faith, compassion, and community.
