RVO-JVO Scholars’ Fellowship 2026: Celebrating Gratitude, Opportunities, and Hope

Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu welcomed its 29 RVO-JVO Scholars to the RVO-JVO Scholars’ Fellowship for School Year 2026–2027 on July 30, 2026, Thursday, at the Cor Jesu Auxiliary Room, Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu.  This is the 17th year of RVO-JVO Scholarship in the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu. The first year was in 2010-2011 with four scholars.

The fellowship brought together the 29 RVO-JVO Scholars in SY 2026-2027 in different grade levels: 4 in Gr 7, 6 in Gr 8, 9 in Gr 9, 1 in Gr 10, 2 in Gr 11, and 7 in Gr 12; school administrators, counselors, and other members of the school community in an afternoon of gratitude, inspiration, and fellowship. More than an orientation, the gathering celebrated the opportunities made possible through the generous support of the RVO Foundation and the commitment of the RVO-JVO Scholars to make the most of their high school educational journey made possible by their 6-year RVO-JVO Scholarship.

The fellowship program opened with an overview of the RVO Foundation by Mrs. Cecilie A. Villacrucis, the coordinator of the Office of Admission and Scholarships and the coordinator of the RVO-JVO Scholarship in the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu. It was then followed by the introduction of the RVO-JVO Scholars by the Grade Level Counselors. An insightful portion of the fellowship was when the more senior RVO-JVO Scholars shared their experiences and reflections on being recipients of the RVO-JVO Scholarship, allowing the younger RVO-JVO Scholars to hear meaningful experiences and reflections from their fellow beneficiaries. These stories highlighted how scholarship support can open doors, nurture dreams, and inspire students to strive for excellence.

The fellowship also welcomed the four new RVO-JVO Scholars in Grade 7 who were formally inducted into the RVO-JVO Scholarship by Fr. Michael I. Pineda, SJ, School President. Inspirational messages from Mrs. Annie F. Abucay, SHS Principal through Mr. Alven Rey Labadan, HUMMS Stand Head, and Mr. Roberto Joseph A. Galvan, JHS Principal, reminded the scholars of the value of perseverance, gratitude, and responsibility in pursuing their education.

The fellowship also featured warm messages from Fr. Michael I. Pineda, SJ, and concluded with a blessing led by Fr. Gilbert Emmanuel P. Levosada, SJ, CMSIO Director, entrusting the scholars and their educational journey to God’s guidance.

As an RVO-JVO Scholar, each student carries not only the gift of educational opportunity but also the responsibility to grow in excellence, gratitude, and service. May they continue to embody the spirit of diligence, perseverance, kindness, humility, and generosity that made their RVO-JVO Scholarship possible and, in time, become a source of inspiration, hope and opportunity for others.

Congratulations to all our RVO-JVO Scholars! May this School Year 2026-2027 be filled with meaningful growth, learning, and opportunities to make a difference.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!
