Intramurals season is one of the most exciting times of the year at Sacred Heart School- Ateneo de Cebu. It’s not only about competition in sports but also about celebrating the many talents that make every Hearter shine. This year’s Grade School Intramurals: Ateneo Fest, Hearters’ Best gave students the chance to show their creativity and confidence both on and off the sports field.
Among the highlights of the week was Melodies and Heartstrings: The Ateneo Hearter Vocal Showdown, held at 1:00 PM in the Virginia Chiongbian Theater last September 12, 2025. The event featured nine outstanding participants from Grades 4 to 6. Each grade level selected three representatives after a careful screening process. Every contestant took the stage with passion and determination, proudly representing their grade level and section while showcasing their love for singing.
The audience enjoyed an afternoon filled with music and excitement as each performer sang their favorite song with confidence and heart. The stage came alive with their voices, and every performance showed how much the students practiced and believed in themselves. It was clear that all the participants gave their best and enjoyed sharing their talent with everyone watching.
After all the remarkable performances, three exceptional students were named winners. Maria Elizha R. Item emerged as Champion with her breathtaking performance of “Into the Unknown.” Jay Francis Nathaniel Zafra earned the First Runner-Up title after moving the audience with his heartfelt rendition of “Speechless,” while Zephyr Gloriel Z. Dalawampu claimed Second Runner-Up with her spirited version of “Beyond.” Their performances captivated everyone and showed the depth of young Hearter talent.
The Ateneo Hearter Vocal Showdown truly reminded everyone that intramurals are more than just about sports—they are a celebration of artistry, confidence, and heart. Through music, the Ateneo Hearters once again turned the stage into a place of inspiration. Their voices uplifted the community and made the event a memorable highlight of the year.
